The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pots
The Magic is in the Pour

BeckyBecky

My life took a very dramatic turn in 1998  when my mom passed away.  I was so devastated that I buried myself in my work and my home office - I literally cocooned myself in.  My depression deepened as I dove more and more into seclusion.  The mere task of going to the grocery store was extremely hard.  My self esteem was shot, and I didn't know why I was here on earth or why any of us are here. I began to ask in prayer "please help me, show me my purpose,  why am I here?". There just must be more.

I continued to ask and seek. Little did I know that my answer would come in the form of a natural soy candle and one that I would pour myself, create myself.  The very act of creating moved me out of all other thoughts and placed me in a joyful state of just playing, being, creating.  I could then give these beautiful candles that I poured my heart into away as a gift from me.
So began the journey and path that has led me to be a co-founder with an amazing woman who has divinely guided me every step of the way on this magnificent journey.  She is my friend and business partner of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pots, Janice.
I now get to pay it forward and assist and empower other women to have hope, belief, and yes to dream.  Through the blissful magic of the "pour", I am living my soul's purpose, to make a difference in others lives by sharing, connecting, listening and seeing every circumstance as an opportunity to continue to learn, to grow, to love and to serve.

In May, 2007, I was introduced to my very 1st magical candle pouring experience….and little did I know how life changing it would be!! I was in a rut after 32 years of a Dental Hygiene career and ready for a FUN, creative and empowering change to jump across my path….WOW…Who knew that the glow of a candle could do all that!!!  The personal growth and freedom has been exhilarating and with the “Sisterhood”, my dreams and grateful attitude have inspired me to new Horizons!   Nothing is more enjoyable than gathering in an inviting kitchen with other ladies, while laughing, sharing, coming together with new souls and creating our awesome soy candles!

Candle making has brought balance to my life. (Also, the purity of the soy candles fit perfectly into my massage room atmosphere!!). I had no idea that paraffin was so very toxic! I had been burning paraffin candles for hours every day. Wow, I was so amazed to hear there was a 100% natural Soy candle available, and all the health benefits we gain with Soy. Also I can enjoy making them myself, with the fun and magic that is truly in the experience of the Pour!  I do love searching for unique containers for the candles, especially in thrift shops.  Not only do I work out of my home, but I do out-call massages, massage at Bed & Breakfasts, and most recently I am doing massage in a salon in Paso Robles, California called “Joseph Antone Salon”.

One of my biggest goals is to Give Back, ”Pay It Forward” to the “Canine Companions for Independence” program. My own dog was trained through this program to assist people with handicaps. I want more than anything to give back since I have found so much enjoyment with a dog that is such a positive force. I want to help others find this same love and companionship. So, come join me in a candle pour with the awe-inspiring Sisterhood, or treat yourself to an energizing massage.

I am so grateful that I am able to experience the gift of Enlightenment brought to me by my “Sisters”.  I have always known that when women come together, we can accomplish anything!  We are empowering, creative, and divine individuals that know we have a purpose in life and we are here on earth for a reason.  Though some people are fortunate enough to discover their passion at a young age, most are continually searching and dreaming for something more.  That is how it was for me, until the Sisters and I came together and were able to create a place for other women to come to, where they could feel connected, inspired, and appreciated.

As a stay-at-home mother of two young daughters, I have discovered that my divine path is not only to be a positive influence and role model for my children, but to also help other people learn how to shine their own inner light.  I have found that creating beautiful soy candles is therapeutic, healing and a very easy way to, literally, light up someone else’s life.  My daughters and I have so much fun while we are making our candles and it has really become a bonding and loving time spent together.  They enjoy creating the candles and love to gift the “Gratitude” candles as a token of appreciation to their teachers and friends.

Making candles is just part of the fun!  I am also fortunate enough to be able to make the custom “Gratitude” Totes that are available on this website.  I feel it is a way to give back to the The Sisterhood for providing this wonderful opportunity to be their “sister” .  I am so thankful to Becky for this Divine experience and for the way it has helped me to find my own path.  Since being surrounded by these wonderful, empowering women, I have been able to believe more in myself and to re-discover the self-confidence that was buried in my Soul.  I am now happy to say I am pursuing my Masters Degree in Psychology with the hope that I will be able to assist others on their own path and to help them to reach for their Dreams.  I invite you to take this journey with “The Sisterhood” and to see where your path leads you.
